清明節的傳統活動是拜山、掃墓和祭祖;
在CantoneseClass101.com留言,和我們分享吧。

Siuling, 你好,

Thank you very much for translating. When I wrote that it stucks after two words,

I actually mean(t) the audio after two words stops (in word of the day e-mail).

Anyway, thanks for your summarise.

Christiaan.

Hello Christiaan,

Thank you so much for your feedback and detail observation again.

I think the confusion or misleading is caused by the word 節(jit3) that can be used for celebration or commemoration event in Chinese .

節日(zit3 jat6) ~hoilday, festival.

季節(gwai3 zit3) ~ season; period; time

Ni hao,

About Qing Ming day.

Before I had an e-mail mentioning Ching Ming Festival.

The name festival is very misleading for people who doesn't know what Qing Ming day is about.

So was I, because it was mentioned without further explication, no lesson as I get now here.

So I blundered to a Hong Kong girl (20 years) congratulating her with the festival.

This is not a festival, so it should not called so. It should be called

Qing Ming commemorate day. This way calling it, there never would be a misunderstanding between

foreigners like I.
