John: This is Must-Know Cantonese Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 5. In this lesson, you'll learn common slang expressions used between friends.
John: Naturally, you can use any of the expressions from this series amongst friends, but these four will be pretty useful.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
John: The expressions you'll be learning in this lesson are:
Siuling: 吹水 (ceoi1 seoi2)
Siuling: AA (AA)
Siuling: 唱K (coeng3 K)
Siuling: 八卦 (baat3 gwaa3)
John: Siuling, what's our first expression?
Siuling: 吹水 (ceoi1 seoi2)
John: which literally means "to blow water." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "to chit-chat; to talk to someone in a friendly informal way."
