Echo: Right. This is a really Cantonese way of speaking.
Oscar: 而我哋就聽到「同我攞杯威士忌」。(ji4 ngo5 dei6 zau6 teng1 dou2 “tung4 ngo5 lo2 bui1 wai1 si6 gei2”.)

Hello Vincent,

記得落齊調味料,碟餸先至好味。

gei3 dak1 lok6 cai4 tiu4 mei6 liu2, dip6 sung3 sin1 zi3 hou2 mei6.

Remember to put seasoning to make the dish delicious.

落齊(lok6 cai4) ~ put everything completely

落(lok6)~ put

齊(cai4)~ completely, altogether

調味料(tiu4 mei6 liu2)~ seasoning

調 diu6 - adjust, tune

味 mei6 - taste, flavor, smell

料 liu2 - material, stuff

You are right that 碟餸(dip6 sung3) means "dish of food". 👍👍

You are right that 先至(sin1 zi3) means "in order to" in this sentence. 👍👍 Or "and then...."

先生,請問你杯果汁要加幾粒冰?

sin1 saang1, cing2 man6 nei5 bui1 gwo2 zap1 jiu3 gaa1 gei2 lap1 bing1?

Sir, how many pieces of ice you want in the fruit juice?

You are right that 加(gaa1) means "add".

You are right that 粒(lap1) is a measure word especially for things that are small and round such as 珍珠(zan1 zyu1)~pearl, 糖(dong2)~ candy, 子彈(zi2 daan2)~ bullet, etc

In the first vocabulary sentence for "lok6: to put" ("gei3 dak1 lok6 cai4 tiu4 mei6 liu2, dip6 sung3 sin1 zi3 hou2 mei6. Remember to put seasoning to make the dish delicious."), what does "cai4"齊, "tiu4"調 and "liu2"料 mean, individually and together if they form a word together, and does "dip6 sung3" mean "dish of food," and does "sin1 zi3"先至 mean "in order to" in this sentence? I understand (from other comments) that "sin1 zi3" 先至 often means "not until, only then."

In the vocabulary sentence for "gei2 lap1 bing1: a few pieces of ice" (" sin1 saang1, cing2 man6 nei5 bui1 gwo2 zap1 jiu3 gaa1 gei2 lap1 bing1? Sir, how many pieces of ice you want in the fruit juice?), does "gaa1"加 there mean "to add" and does "lap1"粒 mean "piece[s]" in all contexts or just when used with "bing1"冰 (as a measure word)? (There is no Honzi for "gei2 lap1 bing1"幾粒冰, nor does "lap1" appear individually in the on-line dictionary.) Thank you, again, for your assistance!

Hi 俊友,

One of our new features of the site is Lesson Transcripts, so you can see everything the hosts said in the lesson. Check it out under "Download PDFs"!

The 2 sentences you ask about are:

記得同佢買枝威士忌。 <-- 枝 is the measure word for bottles (威士忌 "Whisky")

同佢地攞幾杯葡萄酒 <-- correct

At 10:02, Oscar said: 多謝收聽,我哋網上見。

which means "Thank you for listening, see you at the site (see you online)."

您好,

我唔太確定有無聽明白錄音講嘅有關同嗰個單詞嘅一啲例子。

喺9分23秒: 記得同佢買條葡萄酒

喺9分48秒: 同佢地攞幾杯葡萄酒

啱唔啱?

I'm not sure whether I understood correctly some examples for 同 or not.

At 9 min 23 sec : 記得同佢買條葡萄酒

At 9 min 48 sec: 同佢地攞幾杯葡萄酒

Is it correct?

多謝晒

俊友

PS: I also would like to know what Oscar said at 10:02 in the audio file. It starts with 多谢收听 and then 我地 (??)见。 Thank you~

There's a typo in one of the vocabulary sentences

唔該俾被可樂我唔好落冰

Should be "bui1" instead of "bei6" (被)
