Lesson Transcript

Hi guys! Welcome to Cantonese Weekly Words! Today we are going to talk about In the Classroom.
1. 課室 (fo3 sat1) "classroom"
In Hong Kong, students usually stay in the same classroom, so you have your own desk
and the teacher just go to different classroom for the lesson.
成日坐喺一個課室好悶呀。 (sing4 jat6 co5 hai2 jat1 go3 fo3 sat1 hou2 mun6 aa3.) "It's so boring to sit in the same classroom the whole day."
2. 學校 (hok6 haau6) "school"
你間學校喺邊呢? (nei5 gaan1 hok6 haau6 hai2 bin1 ne1?) "Where is your school?"
Tell us in the comments.
3. 白板 (baak6 baan2) "whiteboard"
I like whiteboard way more than blackboard.
我哋喺白板度寫條程式出嚟囉。 (ngo5 dei6 hai2 baak6 baan2 dou6 se2 tiu4 cing4 sik1 ceot1 lei4 lo3.) "Let's write the formula on the whiteboard."
4. 枱 (toi2) "table” or “desk"
課室入面有二十張枱。 (fo3 sat1 jap6 min6 jau5 ji6 sap6 zoeng1 toi2.) "There are 20 desks in the classroom."
5. 測驗 (caak1 jim6) "test"
"We hate surprise quiz.” 最憎臨時測驗。 (zeoi3 zang1 lam4 si4 caak1 jim6.)
I don't know why but teachers always do that to see how much we really know.
So that’s it for today, today we talked about things that are in the classroom. please subscribe and check out the word list on our websites CantoneseClass101.com. And I’ll see you next time in other Cantonese videos. Bye!
