Gabriella: Dogs are one of the most popular pets in Hong Kong. All dogs more than three months old receive rabies shots and are microchipped and licensed.

Gabriella: Cats are another popular pet in Hong Kong. Brother Cream is essentially a cat celebrity there, and you may see him in books or advertisements, or on television in Hong Kong.

Gabriella: I really want to have a cat.

Gabriella: The Chinese central government gave An An and Jia Jia, a pair of giant pandas, to Ocean Park in 1999. Then in 2007, Hong Kong received two more pandas called Le Le and Ying Ying, as part of the celebration of 10 years back under Chinese sovereignty.

Gabriella: For the last twelve years, visitors and residents of Hong Kong have been able to catch boat rides out to see the white dolphins. The trips are mainly done to raise awareness about the dolphins.

This series is pretty useful; most Cantonese learning materials sorely miss this kind of stuff. I just wish we could have more words per lesson. After seeing the recent picture online depicting so many Cantonese vernacular idioms I'd also like a chance to learn more of those in an intermediate or advanced series. I'd also like some listening comprehension tests like seen in some of your parent company's other language series.
