Cultural Insight
Eric: Now it's time for a quick cultural insight.
Olivia: If you want to give emphasis to an adjective, you can add 好 (hou2) in front of the adjective. For example, let’s say you don’t like the climate of Hong Kong during the summer. It’s too hot and too humid. In Cantonese, 好熱 (hou2 jit5) is for “too hot” and 好潮濕 (hou2 ciu6 sap1) is for “too humid.” Here, you can use 好 (hou2) to mean “very” or “too.”

Outro

Eric: And that’s all for this lesson. Don’t forget to check out the lesson notes, and we’ll see you in the next lesson!
Olivia: 拜拜! (baai1 baai3)
